Reading to Learn

To enrich English learning and teaching, we promote Reading to Learn which is one of the Four Key Tasks in our curriculum. Apart from the PLP-R Programme for P.1-3 students, which is facilitated by EDB NET Section, we have developed our school-based reading curriculum for P.4-6 students to read with teachers’ support through regular Reading Workshops.

School-based Writing Curriculum:

Writing is another essential element in our curriculum. A series of school-based writing tasks has been designed to boost students’ creativity and imagination. In recent years, we have been promoting Read-to-write which helps students improve their language skills and connect their learning experiences.

e-Learning and Self-directed Learning:

Nowadays, blended learning and online learning have become the New Normal. To cope with the new trend, we have developed our school-based e-learning curriculum which focuses on grammar teaching and reading by using different e-learning applications. The applications are not only used for in-class activities, they are also assigned as lesson preparation and extended learning for consolidation. Homework is in both print-based and online modes. Online exercises, fun videos, useful links and learning resources have been uploaded to Google Classroom for enriching and consolidating students' learning.
